Give colour to a girl's dream by sending her to school!

It has been a while since I last posted, and it is all for good reasons! I have been very busy with school and various volunteering programs in the last few months. I think it's safe to say I've finally found my place and am loving life.

Since February, I joined a wonderful marketing and leadership program with a charity called Create Change. I've learned so much about fundraising, planning initiatives, and most of all confidence in myself as a leader through raising money for girls to go to high school in Northern Ghana. The people in this program are extremely supportive and I've truly met some amazing people through this program! Recently, I sold hand made bracelets from Ghana to raise money for a girl's school fees.

Our most recent initiative is an online campaign that I designed from scratch with a couple of my peers. Everything from the image to the slogan were all created by myself and of course my lovely team of dedicated members!

What I'm asking for today is if you amazing people of the internet can help Vancouver youth and girls in Ghana by sharing or making a small donation to our campaign?

Let me know what you think!!

My everyday face

Here are the products I've been loving lately! The nudes palette is my love, I use it to contour my eyes and fill in my brows every morning. The pink sponge is a BB dupe I got from ebay for less than a dollar. The quality is amazing although I can't say it's identical since I don't have the real one. It seriously makes my makeup application faster and look more flawless! On the right are some Real Technique face brush dupes I also ordered off ebay. These were only $2 each and are great for everything. One of the brushes are more tapered so I prefer to use it to contour, whereas the other one is great for buffing in foundation/applying powder!

I was sent 2 amazing products last month, one of them being the Body Shop miracle blur primer. It works to fill in pores, but I find that it doesn't control oil as much as I wish. It's okay because it's more targeted toward filling in wrinkles and smoothening the skin.

I also got this stunning Rob Scheppy eyeshadow palette in a giveaway. Rob Scheppy is Kim Kardashian's MUA and this palette is designed with 4 matte shades and 4 complimentary shimmery shades. I prefer mostly the top eyeshadows because there is a bit of glittery fallout on the second row of shadows.

Here is a closeup of the BB dupe! A lil dirty but good

This month was the final month of school and I'm just so happy to have all my exams over with and get on with summer time babyyyyy. I have so many amazing travel opportunities coming up this year and I'm truly grateful for all that's happening to me. Thank you guys for reading this and I hope you have many opportunities awaiting you as well. See you in my next post, whenever that may be!

Favorites, Ebay Haul, and Mini Reviews Galore

Yay for my first official post under my new blog name. I know it's a small change(chic misc->chic miscellaneous) but hey it's still something! I'm fairly new to makeup so a lot of products in this post will be cult favorites(I'm looking at you WnW) but there will also be some unknown and underrated products from Ebay and Aliexpress. I took these pictures with my Samsung phone, hence the fuzzies. I've put a filter on top to sort of hide it. Heh

The Elf eyebrow kit in Dark is one of the first makeup pieces I bought last summer, right when I started my makeup journey.  Recently I have found the kit to be too light and warm for my use but the powder on the right is perfect as a matte brown blending shade for my eyeshadow.

Speaking of eyeshadow I bought the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette during spring break and I've been loving it ever since. Super pigmented, blendable, and gorgeous neutrals for less than $5 for 8 shadows. I love it.

I won the Naked Truth palette in a giveaway a while ago and to be honest the quality is a dud compared to the 8-pan palette. I do like using the definer shade for my eyebrows though. I like using a mix of powder eyeshadow and the Marcelle eyebrow accent crayon in black for my eyebrows. I find the pencil gets a bit splotchy and the powder doesn't give enough shape. The combo is great!

The Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation in shade 942 is finally matching me again since it was my summer foundation. I can't wait to use it more and bring it with me on vacation!!

I rarely use blush since it makes my makeup too heavy(or I've yet to find the perfect one!) but when I do I like to apply the WnW Berry Shimmer blush on my cheeks.

I bought the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Light during spring break, as it was on sale for $5.99. Unfortunately London Drugs doesn't carry a lot of shades and I had to pick between light or medium, so I opted for a lighter shade.  I have to use a light hand otherwise I look too ghostly.
These next two products are absolutely amazing finds.  The NYC Sunny bronzer is a cult favorite and heavily praised on by Youtubers. It's a bit orange but I like to use a light hand on my cheeks. The WnW lipstick in Bare It All is such a lovely nude lipstick, it reminds me of the signature Kylie Jenner look and looks great paired with a lip liner.
A swatch of the WnW lipstick and the Elf eyebrow powder.

The Ebay haul portion of this post is the part I was most looking forward to.
First off, let me show you this amazing gold eyeshadow I got for $0.50!!
Holy poop, the pigmentation on this eyeshadow is off the charts. It's not too shimmery and is the perfect gold for my skintone. I love it, I love it. I did get it on auction so I can no longer find the listing but you can find it on Aliexpress for about a dollar.

My favorite and most used products from Ebay are definitely my makeup brushes. I got a big flat top brush for my foundation but I use it for powder, blush, and bronzer as well. It's really soft and hasn't shed at all.

I got an angled brush for my eyebrows and I have to admit it has truly changed my eyebrow game. That's all I have to say. Got it for $0.50 on Aliexpress.

Next I have two eyeshadow brushes that I use everyday for my daily looks. The fluffy one I got for $1.25, while the shading brush was only $0.50. Both are so soft and have not shed a single hair.

The last thing I got were some hair spirals for $0.30 since I really wanted to try the ones by Goody but didn't want to pay that much for pieces of plastic. I haven't used it since.

That's it for my super cheap haul. What do you have that's super affordable but also super amazing? Tell me in the comments below I'd love to hear about it. :)

Wet n Wild Prizes

I won a Wet N Wild Giveaway about a month ago when they were hosting giveaways on a bunch of blogs to promote their Steal The Look app and just received my prize today! I have been looking forward to this for so long.  Originally, I was told I was going to get the four products the app generated, but I ended up with so much more! Thank you Wet N Wild for these amazing products. I'm so excited to try these yay! Also, thank you to Vanessa(http://citronandguavaberry.blogspot.ca/) for hosting this awesome giveaway.  I've heard so much good things about Wet N Wild products; they're known for being affordable and performing very well.

Have you tried Wet N Wild makeup? What's your favourite product?  Leave me a comment :)

Also sorry for not posting in a while I've been busy with school stuff but I'll try to post more during the holidays. Merry (early) Christmas!!

Monopoly Game Night!

I love Monopoly! Everyone loves monopoly. Sometimes it can be a little long and confusing for the little ones to play but Monopoly Junior is a great one to have for the younger ones in the house. When I got chosen for this voxbox from Influenster I was really excited, so was my little brother. The first two games we played he beat me!  The rules for Monopoly Junior are much simplified and games end fast.  However I will be introducing some harder modified rules later so we can have even more fun.  I love that we get to play with "money" and he gets to practice his math.  It allows for some fun learning.

As a kid, Hasbro board games have always played a big role in my childhood.  Games like Jenga, Scrabble, and Guess Who are very nostalgic of my younger self.  Now my brother can have this memory as well! I think board games are so important in the development of social skills, even basic math and techniques

Here he is with the game.

Have you played monopoly? Do your family/friends get really into it? One time my friends got so mad they didn't talk to each other for a week!

It's Remembrance day on Tuesday in Canada.  Will you be attending any ceremonies this weekend?  I was actually a flag bearer in my school's ceremony.

Longer Lashes with Mia Adora 3D Fiber Lashes

I've been blessed with short limpy lashes and no mascara seems to work on them.  Voluminous mascaras are too heavy and weigh my lashes down, lengthening mascaras aren't noticeable.  Needless to say when I got the opportunity to review these 3D fiber lashes by Mia Adora I was very excited!

I'm sure you've heard of fiber lashes but basically they're little fibers you apply on your eyelashes so that mascara clings onto them and make them appear fuller and longer.

This 3-step mascara kit claims to magnify lashes up to 300% without glue or falsies.  It also comes with an ebook manual on how to fully optimize this product.  One thing is that it claims to be water resistant but it says to remove you use warm water...

The application process is very simple, first apply the magnifying gel so the fibers have something to stick to, apply the fibers, and then lock them in with the magnifying gel.

Anyway, here are my before and after results.
My limpy naked eyelashes...
After using the 3D Fiber lashes. Awesome right?
Here is the link if you'd like to try for yourself!!

Have you ever used fiber lashes? Do you prefer them to falsies or even your favourite mascara?
Have a great day!!
